Women's Health ResearchTotal Control™ Research Study Results Presented at AUGS In September, 2005, Dr. Linda Brubaker presented a poster at the American Urogynecologic Society’s annual meeting highlighting the results of a 2004 research study done at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL. 23 women participated in a pilot study using the Total Control™ program. Program participants reported both statistically significant improvement for stress and urge incontinence symptoms and statistically significant decreases in rates of bothersomeness at the end of the 11 week class. This is the first study to use a fitness class format to assess the impact of non-medical intervention on symptoms of incontinence. Further research was launched in January, 2006 building on this data using a larger, three site model. |
